The new 8 MW CHP Plant at Hershey Medical Center is now operational, and HMC has enlisted Cogen Power Technologies in a service contract to help oversee the plant operations for the first three months of operation. The service contract is aimed to maximize the run-time of the plant and prepare the operations staff for future success. As part of the service contract, the CPT staff will be working directly with the plant operations staff and management on all aspects of operation including daily rounds and checks, developing the preventative maintenance programs, assisting in managing all service contracts and maintenance shutdowns, developing standard operating procedures, monitoring the CHP performance, as well as providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting assistance in the event of an unexpected outage.
The service contract will also provide on-going training for the operations staff. Training will consist of Q&A sessions, review of operating procedures, and real-time drills to ensure the staff is confident and ready to handle all aspects of the plants operation.
