Jim Day – Project Management
Growing up in the Syracuse area, Jim was the neighborhood kid who wanted to discover how things work – by taking things apart. He joined the United States Navy as a young man and got his training on nuclear submarines as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class on the USS Phoenix.
Since then, Jim has spent the last two decades gaining energy industry experience ranging from power plant operation and maintenance to managing energy efficiency programs. Jim expanded his operator knowledge base from nuclear power generation into Waste-to-Energy power plants and gas turbine cogeneration plants.
More recently, Jim was an Associate Director of Energy Programs leading a team that implemented energy efficiency programs and managed maintenance service contracts that supported various building systems (HVAC, boiler, chiller, etc.) for commercial and institutional clients.
Now Jim brings his broad skillset to Cogen to ensure that new CHP plants are built, installed, and operated according to the project design and meet client expectations. These days, when he’s not busy cheering on his kids at their sporting events, Jim pushes his own limits as a CrossFit athlete and trainer ranking 49th in his age group in the Northeast last year.
